Hi! My name is Alina, and I am a recent Biomedical Science graduate specialising in Pharmacology. I am passionate about supporting students to reach their full potential in a positive and encouraging learning environment. I have experience teaching English and Maths at primary level, and I offer Biology and English tuition up to GCSE, using my degree knowledge to explain concepts clearly and effectively.

Tutoring Experience

I have previously worked as tutor, teaching English to primary and secondary and Maths to primary student. I helped students’ academically progress by building their confidence and understanding, whilst keeping them engaged and motivated through interactive and tailored lessons.

Tutoring Approach

At primary level, my teaching style focuses on building students’ confidence in Maths and English by using an energetic and engaging approach to keep them motivated. I tailor lessons to each student’s level, combining interactive activities and practice exercises to strengthen core skills and encourage a positive can-do attitude.

At secondary level, I help students strengthen their understanding of Biology and English by providing classwork and homework support, as well as lessons to support the understanding of key concepts which will be carried into their GCSE’s. Problem solving, independent learning and critical thinking is encouraged in a supportive environment.

For GCSE students, my approach starts by ensuring the student is confidently understanding the theory and concepts behind GCSE Biology, English Language and English Literature. For Biology, I aim to solidify students’ understanding of all topics and biological processes, helping them apply this knowledge effectively to practice questions and past papers. For English Language and Literature, I focus on the key concepts and skills required for their year, based on the material that will be covered in their exams. Lessons include targeted practice, guidance on language techniques, and strategies to help students achieve top marks. At GCSE level, independent revision techniques are highly encouraged and explored.

At all levels, I address any areas of concern raised from students or parents, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs.
