Alfie

Hi I'm Alfie, I'm 25 and from the UK. I absolutely love to travel and speak languages and always interested to learn about other cultures and languages when I'm on the go. I currently live in Spain and am working as a tour operator, organising and hosting families, private parties and running escorted tours around Andalucia. I've been passionate about teaching since I worked as an English teacher in Brazil and have continued to work online and in person for the last 2 1/2 years. I'm very easy to chat to and my main priority is to create a friendly, relaxed environment in my classes to work towards the learners' goals and improve their language skills. I speak 5 languages - English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Catalan and so I understand the issues and challenges a student may face when it comes to learning a languages. I'm ready to help you on your language learning journey and achieve your goals.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is fun, relaxed and student focused but with clear goals and targets. I ensure there is plenty of conversation about interesting current topics that would be useful. I often then focus on a different language skill - reading, listening, speaking, writing and focusing on developing new vocabulary, practising grammar with lots of practise and drilling pronunciation.
I think it is important for a class to be student-focused with lots of conversation and pronunciation work. I will quickly gauge the level of the student so I can learn where the key areas of improvement are.
