Hi I am Alexandra (Alex) Removed and I am a 4th year veterinary medicine student at the University of Cambridge at Magdalene College. I have a degree in Zoology, also at Cambridge University, and I have a real passion for biology and medicine. I enjoy teaching and will try to instill confidence and proficiency in tutees about their subject. I would also really enjoy doing interview practice with prospective veterinary medicine and medicine students helping them to be aware about what Cambridge interviews (and Oxford interviews) will be like. I would also help with the multiple mini interviews which many veterinary medicine and medical universities use nowadays.

Tutoring Experience

So offers from Cambridge and Royal Veterinary College for Veterinary medicine which gave me experience with their interview styles. In the case of Cambridge the Natural Science Admissions Assessment which is an exam you need to take to study natural science and veterinary medicine at Cambridge.
I have tutored people at GCSE Maths and Biology and lower levels but I am proficient at teaching a-level and giving practice interviews for medicine or veterinary medicine.

Tutoring Approach

When tutoring biology and maths I would make sure to alter my pace to best suit the tutee to ensure that they are taking everything in. It is imporant to me that their confidence in the subject grows as it helps with enjoyment of the subject as well as exam grades. I will ensure that the tutee gets the most out of the lessons and finishes them feeling more adept at dealing with these subjects.

For entrance exams and interviews I will be focusing on giving them realistic examples of what they could face and encouraging problem solving so that when questions that they have not come across before comes up they are not flustered and are able to face it rationally and come across well to the interviewer.
