I'm a qualified and experienced primary school teacher having taught full time for the last 9 years. I am Mummy to my two little boysand continue to teach part time. I love seeing children reach their potential and the fascination and joy on their face when they learn something new. It's wonderful to see a child's sense of pride when they achieve their goals.
I graduated from the University of Suffolk with a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies and Psychology degree and then gained my PGCE Primary Teacher qualification specialising in Early Years and Key Stage One at the University of East Anglia. I then studied part time at the University of Essex to achieve my CELTA teaching English to non native speakers qualification. I gained my Masters degree in Education at the University of East of Anglia where I focused on mathematical learning outdoors.
I have taught in both small and large primary and infant schools. I specialise in Early Years (Nursery and Reception) and Key Stage One (Years 1 and 2). I'm able to offer support with all aspects of the primary curriculum and have the latest knowledge and training to support all subjects, in particular reading, writing and maths. I've taught children with English as their second language and also children with special educational needs.
I have an excellent understanding of the primary and early years curriculum and have undertaken a range of training and CPD courses including specialist phonics training. I am always seeking to further my knowledge and skills to ensure I can support a child's learning in the very best possible way. I will plan an effective, individualised program of support to significantly boost your child's progress.
I'm passionate about making learning fun! I like to engage children through their own interests and teach through different topics and stories. I can help support your child with their phonics, reading and writing and also maths. I can help with other subjects in the primary curriculum too. I will adjust my approach to meet the individual needs of each child in a calm and supportive manner.
Please get in touch with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
