Hello,

My name is Aleks and I am a biology tutor. In my time outside of tutoring I study medicine.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience in delivering tutorials and teaching sessions on larger scales. Additionally I took part in research into delivering feedback on teaching sessions, which exposed me to a variety of teaching styles and techniques. I have one to one tutoring experience both in person and online. However I find students perform better via online tutorials and I focus on conducting those now. I have experience in teaching biology and human biology at the Scottish levels of National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. I can also deliver GCSE and A-Level teaching. I also have experience in essay writing and marking, as well as professional presentation delivery and I am happy to help students with those. I also have hands on laboratory experience, which means I can help students with thier research projects.

Tutoring Approach

I use an interactive classroom approach online delivered via two main websites which I instruct the student on. I prefer if the student is familiar with topics from school, and we focus on question and exam preparation which includes going over any gaps in knowledge and particular questions a student may have. I can deliver tutorials on a particular topic if that is valuable to a student. I put an importance on active student participation, which can include homework questions if the parents and the student agree that as valuable as I understand the pressures on students placed already. I tutor with a focus to deliver exam results, which includes both content as well as exam style and question techniques.
