My name is Alb Jose and I am studying Civil Engineering, a subject in which heavy mathematical problem solving and creativity are required. I tend to use creative out of the box thinking to help student understand mathematical concepts which can be hard to wrap your mind about. Not too long ago, I went through exactly what you guys are going through right now! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want more information and I'm sure I can help you out.
I have been teaching locally in school, teaching lower year groups Maths for 2 years. I support them with knowledge that I know and give them advanced knowledge which will enable them to fully grasp the topic.
I usually start off by knowing what the student is aware of is and is confident in. I then give them a set of questions to assess whether they are fully confident in it or whether there are some core knowledge that are missing. Then I'd ask them what they need/ want to work on an we'll start from there. I usually give them questions and answers as well as homework to see if they have fully understood what they have learnt. For stuff they don't understand, I truly believe that practice is the perfect medicine. I give them more practice questions to attend. At the beginning of the next session, I give them a spot quiz to get their brains warmed up and ready to go for the lesson. My lessons usually tend to be fun and jovial and the student are free to ask me questions or go over topics they do not get. If this sounds good to you, let's get started! :)
