I am a proud graduate of the University of Kent, where I earned a 2:1 degree in Business and Management. I currently work in Accounting, but my passion for helping others academically has been a constant throughout my life. From assisting my peers in school and university to serving as a private Mathematics tutor for students in local schools and colleges over the past decade, I have had the privilege of making a positive impact on many learners.
Throughout these years, I’ve seen first-hand how personalised support can lead to student success, which is why I am so dedicated to this work. The sense of fulfilment I get from seeing the students I tutor achieve their goals and knowing that my efforts are contributing to their progress motivates me every day.
Over the past 10 years, I have tutored more than 100 students, including peers from my university and students from local schools and colleges. I specialise in tutoring students from KS1 to GCSE level, focusing on Mathematics. I am proud to have achieved a 100% pass rate among my students, including two recent successes where students earned A* grades in their Mathematics GCSEs, completed ahead of schedule.
With experience teaching students at various levels, I strongly believe that every student has the potential to succeed academically and reach their goals. Often, the key to unlocking this success lies in how topics are taught. By tailoring lessons to each student's unique learning style and presenting concepts in a clear and approachable way, we can significantly improve their understanding and, ultimately, their grades
I believe a strong teacher-student relationship is essential for effective learning. Having tutored students of various ages and personalities, I excel at adapting my teaching style to suit each individual. I prioritise ensuring students fully understand all of the material starting from the foundations so they can achieve their best possible grades.
To ensure students' success, I integrate exam techniques and preparation into lessons from the beginning, focusing on strategies such as time management and exam style question incorporation. This approach helps students build familiarity and confidence well before exam day.
I like to couple this approach with a focused effort on addressing the main areas where students face the most difficulty. By identifying and targeting these challenging topics, I can help them build a strong foundation in these areas, so they are able to improve their overall understanding in a more efficient and structured way.
Each lesson begins with a recap of previous topics to reinforce understanding; building confidence before moving on to new material.
