I am a final year undergradute student at the University of Oxford studying Mathematics and Statistics, with a passion for discussing and helping younger students with maths.
Although I've loved tackling maths problems over the past few years of university and secondary school, I have struggled with it in the past. I have benefitted greatly from being tutored, hence my desire to help others in the same way I was helped.
Outside of maths, I love to jog (not too far though!) and travel, particularly around Europe.
In-person tutoring:
While at school I tutored in a range of subjects and levels of education; from Year 7 Computing and GCSE Physics, to A-Level Further Maths.
My highlights include tutoring a GCSE Computing student to achieve an A (sitting the exam in his second language - English), and helping a Year 12 Further Maths student understand 'induction' (we were able to go through some challenging material on it, written to the bridge the gap between A Level and university-level Mathematics).
Online tutoring/mentoring:
I am currently tutoring GCSE and A Level Maths students weekly. Typically we work through a short list of topics their teachers have sent in advance, over a 10 week period. Sometimes I explain a topic from scratch if my student has not seen it, or to jog their memory on it, though we spend most of the time working through questions they have struggled with in class/homework and building on that.
I have also mentored an Oxford applicant for Maths, giving advice on MAT preparation, the personal statement and the admission process in general and conducting a mock interview via Zoom. He went on to receive an offer.

My students benefit most when they bring questions that they are finding challenging; we then work through those questions, and similar ones, to cement their understanding and build their confidence on them. If there is time and they are comfortable enough with the topic, we move on to more difficult questions.
