I am a head of department at a leading independent school in Somerset ( known for elite sport) I am still working, so fully up to date with students and school’s expectations. I also work for Bath Spa University training teachers for the masters teach first programme. I take pride in creating an individual approach to my teaching with positive, firm support and a coaching approach. I have worked as an examiner for the past eight years for both English and Media Studies, so I know precisely what exam boards want. I have just obtained my masters in journalism, my first career was as a radio journalist, so I like to instil a passion for writing too..
I’ve been teaching A level English, Media Studies and GCSE for over a decade. My enthusiasm for my subjects is clear but also my experience in helping students with dyslexia, adhd and asd extensive. I believe in finding everyone’s potential.
A lot of the time, students come to me because they are struggling with either knowing the expectations of the exam board, or they are not being helped enough in large classes.
With my decade of techniques, and a calm and patient understanding, I will unlock the key to success.
I also work as an examiner for AQA English language and Cambridge Media Studies, so I clearly know what exam boards want.
I take a coaching approach towards my teaching, tailoring my lessons to suit needs and making everything I teach relevant and interesting.
As I work as an examiner, I am fully up to date with both GCSE and A level requirements.
I am a specialist in AEN including dyslexia, ADHD and slow processing issues.
