My name is Aimee. I am a patient, consistent and thorough tutor who enjoys tailoring the lessons I give to each individual pupil. As a highly passionate and enthusiastic SEND / Inclusion assistant, I love inspiring pupils to fulfil their full potential and develop their self-confidence and independence.

I am committed to ensuring the quality of my service by completing regular CPD training opportunities. These include (but are not limited to): National Online Safety, A practical Guide to GDPR in Education, The Prevent Duty, The SEND Code of Practice, Child Protection and Mental Well-being in Children and Young People. Certificates available upon request.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a Specialist Teaching Assistant across a diverse range of education settings for almost 14 years and have experience of working in mainstream schools, faith schools and special needs schools. I am currently a SEND/ Inclusion Assistant at a large Primary and Nursery school in Berkshire, where I am responsible for planning and implementing a variety of curriculum based and therapeutic interventions to support children’s cognition, learning and overall well-being. I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an enthusiasm in educational and developmental psychology.

Tutoring Approach

Each child is an individual with different needs; consequently, I always work with the child to establish what they feel they need support with as well as assessing any additional areas of learning that may require some scaffolding, focusing learning sessions on those particular areas.

Lessons are usually built around how the individual child likes to learn, they will usually begin with an observational/ assessment session before a learning programme is developed. A learning session will usually consist of modelling work to the pupil and then guiding them through a similar example before asking them to demonstrate their understanding. I will always try to apply the work to a real-life context and include subject matter that is interesting and motivating for your child.
