Hello I’m Agnes - I’m a specialist tutor in English Language and Literature (particularly Shakespeare) at GCSE, A Level, and University Level. Thank you for looking at my profile!

I have a BA from Oxford in English Language and Literature, and I’m currently completing an MA in Shakespeare Studies from King’s College London / The Globe. I have over five years experience of delivering personalised tutoring sessions to students online, focusing on improving their literary analysis and reading comprehension and achieving their own learning aims. I’ve had lovely feedback from past students who achieved better grades, increased their confidence, and have grown to love literature!

Tutoring Experience

I have experience engaging dyslexic children with English language and literature, and working with adults requiring English language for business and academic purposes. I've supported University students with essays and teenage students with literature analysis, particularity specialising in Shakespeare. I’ve prepared students for both their English language and literature GCSEs and A Levels, and I also provided full time English language and literature classes for a child unable to attend school for six months. These experiences have helped me develop the following skills:

Assessment and Progress Tracking: Evaluating student performance through quizzes, assignments, and feedback sessions

Educational Technology Integration: Using digital tools, interactive software, and online platforms to enhance learning

Curriculum Adaptation: Preparing lessons based on the current curriculum including homework assignments and marking all completed tasks in a timely manner

Tutoring Approach

My approach involves an initial consultation with each student to set clear goals, whether that be about grades, confidence, or troubleshooting specific areas. I’ll then tailor lessons to their individual learning styles; breaking down complex concepts in the most appropriate and accessible way possible; and identifying problems and finding personalised solutions. I’ll provide regular evaluations and feedback to encourage positive engagement!

I have an Enhanced DBS and am currently running all my lessons online.
