I have been teaching and lecturing for over 18 years and have accumulated much experience which I am able to pass on to my students. I set regular homework and mark it promptly. I was a Teacher of Applied Sciences at a local sixth form college for 5.5 years. Previously I was Head of Science at University of Leicester International Study Centre and taught biology on a university foundation course (pharmacy) at Midlands Academy of Business & Technology for several years.

Using a fully equipped teaching room and handouts provided where necessary.

During every session, I ensure that the student fully understands what is being taught. At the beginning and end of the session I provide opportunities of assessment using a variety of methods, to check their learning.

I am always patient with students to ensure they are confident in themselves. Also I provide monthly tests, so that the students are familiar with exam conditions.

I provide up to date and appropriate resources to students to ensure that their learning is relevant to their respective exam board.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 18 years teaching experience. I taught biology on the University Foundation course (Pharmacy) at the Midlands Academy of Business & Technology for several years and teaching Science to private tutees at KS3, GCSE Sciences and Biology to A level standard. In recent past I have taught A Level Biology, BTEC in Applied Sciences & University Foundation Biology at Leicester College and Leicester University International Study Centre.

I was a GCSE Biology Examiner for several exam boards. This job experience gave me an in-depth understanding of the examiners expectations and an insight of the common errors that students make.

In addition to this I have also supervised undergraduate medical students during my postgraduate studies.

Tutoring Approach

My approach towards tutoring is two fold, coaching students to improve their exam technique and boosting self confidence. I do this by doing the following;
