Tutoring Approach

I believe that repetition is the mother of skill. Just like coaching a top sportsperson true mastery of a subject can come through a simple 5 step process:

Step 1: Demonstrate the subject matter in an instruction format.
Step 2: Complete an exercise with the student in tandem
Step 3: Allow the student to explain their working back to the tutor
Step 4: The student then is then set a similar exercise to complete on their own
Step 5: Feedback with the student on any issues and set two more similar exercises to be completed independently the next day.

Using this method the student will have multiple touchpoints on the subject matter helping to create and solid understanding and a clear concept.
