Adam

Maths and Physics Teacher in Cheltenham

I am a qualified teacher of Maths and Science specialising in Physics with three decades experience classroom teaching and personal tutoring. I hаve tаught Science and Maths аcrоss the curriculum to GCSE аnd hаve tаught Physics to A -level with excellent results throughout.

I believe that best results come when students find the level оf chаllenge thаt will help thаt student prоgress mоst effectively. Tutoring offers a unique approach in education to find the route for every student that works best for them, and seeing any student make best progress is really what it's all about for me.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a classroom teacher for three decades teaching in a range of schools.
I have been a personal tutor for much of this time to many students, all of which have made excellent progress once we started working together.
Within schools I have held a range of management positions but probably most relevant to my profile here is the role of working with students of Higher Learning Potential, finding strategies and methods to inspire able students to achieve their very high targets. As is always the way - what works well for one student is relevant to many, and so I have become well versed in finding those things to supplement what students are normally offered that will add additional interest or inspiration.
In my experience, getting the best from students comes from understanding how they learn and I have a wealth of strategies to assess a student's difficulties and how best to overcome them.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to provide a bespoke program for students based on those things that they find challenging.
I can offer support for what is being taught in school and so teach parallel to what will be happening in Science or Maths lessons, or can write a program which covers other material;
- topics previously studied your son or daughter may have found difficult and wishes to revisit,
- Work to cover the most challenging questions examining higher grades and help meet top end targets,
- We can go back to the basics and ensure that the foundations are in place...

In short, I will offer to the best of my abilities, the kind of support that will best meet the needs of the student I find myself teaching. All in person teaching is supported by a set of online resources which I have made - should you subscribe to these I will offer a discount on any in-person lessons. These resources can act as support for what has been covered in tutoring sessions and will assist with anything happening in school, and will also help with homework tasks.

In summary I aim to provide assistance and support which is as holistic as possible.
