I am a fully qualified Biology teacher, teaching in an Academy in Angus. I also have a background and interest in Psychology.

Tutoring Experience

Since qualifying with a PGDE Biology with Science, I have worked at Gordonstoun School in Elgin for 3 1/2 years where I taught Science to Year 7 to Year 9 and GCSE Biology and Chemistry. I was also an Assistant Housemaster in my first year. I then taught in Aberdeen for 1 1/2 years teaching Science and Biology from S1 to S4. I am currently teaching Science and Biology up to Higher level in Angus.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is to provide students with a variety of engaging activities so the students leads their own learning. I also apply what we are learning to real life.
My tutoring approach is to focus on past papers and working through questions. I also support students to complete their own work, for example homework and what questions they have been doing in class. I feel that it is also important to identify areas of the course that the student does not fully understand and work through these areas with the student.
