I've been an enthusiastic learner of foreign languages from a young age and I also love travelling. I'm happiest when I can combine the two! As part of my degree, I lived in France and taught English for a year in a French school as an unqualified teacher, which was fantastically character building and helped me to become fluent in French.
I now live in Solihull with my husband and our two year old son, and we all enjoy going abroad when we can. When I have time I love reading, films and cycling.
I qualified as a teacher in 2009 and have been teaching French ever since. Having taught in three secondary schools now, I feel I have a wealth of experience to offer as a tutor. I've helped students achieve excellent results at KS3, 4 and 5 and in addition to classroom teaching, I've enjoyed participating in and leading trips to France, enabling students to put their learning to use in the real world and getting to experience French culture.
I've been described as very calm, kind and patient and I believe these characteristics are integral to my teaching approach. I help students to build their confidence in the four key skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing and as an experienced teacher, I'm able to adapt my teaching style to the needs of the student. Finally, I'm passionate about languages and try to inspire the students I teach!
