Hi I am Abdur-Rahmaan! I studied A level Biology, Chemistry and Maths at King Edwards VI Aston Grammar School and achieved AAA in these subjects.
Due to some difficulties experienced during my time as an A-level student I was forced to self-teach the majority of the course to myself. Consequently, I have a gained a deep understanding of why a tutee may fail to understand a certain aspect, and the different angles of approach needed to ensure the tutee fully understands the fundamentals of the problem.

Tutoring Experience

Self-taught GCSE’s and A-levels partially due to COVID.
UCAT achieved: top 14% in the UK in 2023. Achieved a score of 820 in abstract reasoning. I would be more than happy to share with you my UCAT tips and even key notes used.
Extensive use of ANKI (online flashcard tool) - my self-made decks can be used to aid the tutee during tuition.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is relaxed while providing a safe environment tailored specifically to the tutees way of learning to ensure all aspects of the problem are solved and understood by the pupils upon exiting each lesson.
My lessons will be based on the philosophy that tuition will always be student led. This means that being comfortable enough to enquire when at all confused will be of paramount importance. Therefore, the tutee will build up confidence in all aspects of the course resulting in major improvements.
I plan to target the ultimate key to improvement which is exam technique and understanding how the examiner is likely to think. This something that is widely underestimated by students.
