Online Maths and English Tuition

I am a medical student at the University of Manchester with a strong interest in education. I achieved top grades at GCSE and A level, and I would love to help you learn effectively. I am an amicable individual who takes pride in my ability to understand, work with and assist others. I look forward to getting to know you and answering any questions you may have!

Tutoring Experience

During college, I really enjoyed being part of the virtual medical society – this was a weekly meeting where I and a committee of other aspiring medical students would prepare presentations on a broad range of topics (such as managing exam stress, medical current affairs and medical ethics) to other students like us. From this experience, I developed my ability to communicate with conviction and learnt to balance engaging with informative.
Another project I was part of in college was called “Maths Masterclasses”, where I worked in a pair to develop an educational maths presentation for primary school students. In preparation for the presentation, I made resources such as a presentation and worksheet – I had to consider how my lesson would come together, prepare myself for potential questions, and how to incorporate challenging concepts to stretch the students’ understanding beyond their curriculum.

Tutoring Approach

This academic year, I volunteered as an interviewer in mock MMIs for college students. I was tasked with listening to each student’s response to an interview question before swiftly providing them with feedback. During this process, I discovered some students were more confident or assertive; therefore, I gave them the space to demonstrate their understanding, and my role was simply to provide guidance or corrections where necessary. On the contrary, I recall one particular student found the station more challenging, so they benefited from a more didactic approach which placed them on track for development.
