I am an enthusiastic, energetic primary school teacher looking to make an impact on children's education in and around Shropshire. I am easy to get along with and eager to support your children's learning through support, understanding and years of experience in the educational sector.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a classroom-based primary school teacher for 4 years, all of which have been in Key Stage 2 and the last 2 years as a year 6 teacher preparing and supporting my students for SATs, 11+ and transitioning to secondary school. My teaching career started through 1:1 special educational need support 7 years ago and quickly developed into 2 years as a classroom TA for year 6 students in primary school before finally training as a primary school teacher through the school direct route, teaching in a year 6 class, which then led on to my 4 years as a teacher.
This also means that I have had much professional development over the years and thus can offer:
- Knowledge on verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills.
- Read, Write, Inc trained for phonics
- SATs preparation for all subjects and content knowledge.
- Writing moderator, thus offering skills on writing assessments for end of year 6.
- Maths skills aged 5-11 using a range of approaches and schemes (white rose maths, mastery of number)

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is focused on adaptability and tailored made lessons to suit the styles, needs and areas of development for each child and acknowledging this may also change depending on the subject needs too. I am well-equipped and experienced for teaching and coaching a range of diverse needs for both content and skill-based learning. Knowing children are so unique ensures that I have spent my years in education garnering a wide range of techniques, strategies and activities to both engage and educate students, after first learning their interests, areas of strength and their learning needs.
