I have a BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Brighton. My main focus is Maths at (i)GCSE, (i)A Level Maths, Further Maths and Mechanics (M1-M6). I have always been interested in STEM subjects and I want to help those who are needing an extra push and a boost of confidence with these sometimes challenging subjects. I believe that everybody can learn anything, it just takes a bit of hard work and dedication.

I am currently the Head of Maths at an international school in Spain and I am available to teach on evenings and weekends.

I have worked with a large portion of students with special needs, from Dyscalculia/Dyslexia to visual impairments to Autism. If your child has specific needs please let me know in advance and we can talk about how to best support you and the learner.

Tutoring Experience

I have been working as a Maths teacher for the past five years, working in mainstream schools in Crawley and international schools in Spain. I currently teach all age groups all the way from year 7 - 13.

My classes have been renowned for receiving the top grades, before I left for Spain, 24/31 students in my class achieved Grades 8 & 9. In summer 2022, 64% of my most recent Y13 IAL Maths achieved grades A* and A. I have taught and tutored a range of students from all around the world.

I have tutored adults as well as first year university students studying engineering. I also helped with their Maths, Calculus and Hydraulics lectures.

Tutoring Approach

I first and foremost listen to the student to see where the majority of the difficulty seems to arise. From there it makes it easier to tailor the tutoring around them. I use a lot of visual aids/diagrams and scaffolding that relate to the students everyday life so they tend to remember it more.

The next focus is to relate everything to the specific exam board that they are working towards. Gathering exam style questions and integrating it within the sessions lets the student familiarise themselves with the exams.
