Online Maths Tuition

I am Dr. Stephen (A Hau) and I have studied mathematics up to PhD level. I am a highly motivated private tutor and I believe that each person has the capacity to achieve the highest grades despite their previous performance or self-belief. My goal is to help my students develop greater exam techniques, understanding, confidence and self-learning abilities and enjoyment while learning.

I get my students to aspire for the highest by informing them of real life examples. In particular, aim for 100 % in the exam because it is possible as demonstrated by one of my second year engineering student, from Leicester University, in a module he asked me to tutor him on.
Another example is my GCSE mathematics student from Wembley High Technology College. I started teaching him in his year 7 and he subsequently achieved the highest grade 9 by the end of his year 9, not year 11! The student went on to study GCSE Further mathematics in his year 10.

Tutoring Approach

I like to aim for depth and breadth in understanding of the subject. I tend to aim for more advance materials and skills in the process (this will help with depth in understanding). I take an interactive approach where the student show the mathematical workings on the online whiteboard as well as explain their workings verbally. I also encourage students to be confident and learn certain topics within the subject by themselves from the textbook which they set themselves as homework (this will help with breadth in understanding).
