Samya's feedback about David (A-Level Maths tuition near Wakefield)
I'm a mature student on an access course and I really struggle with maths - David really helped me to understand the topics that I was struggling with despite going through them with my college tutor. David picked up that I was unsure, and tried to help me understand by using different methods and eventually it did sink in! He even offered to look through work I did at home between tutorials in his own time (he wanted to make sure I understood and didn't struggle) without me asking! A professional guy with a very relaxed nature - I would definitely recommend!
Chamila's feedback about Matthew (GCSE English tuition near Wakefield)
Matt is an exceptionally good tutor. He has been tutoring my daughter in English language and English Literature for the past 7 months and she is much more confident in her approach to both subjects. She achieved a level 9 in English Language and Level 8 in English Literature in recent end of year exams. She could not have achieved this without his help. Matt is very organised in his lessons and is also extremely reliable. We are fortunate to have found him through this website
Elizabeth's feedback about James (A-Level Chemistry tuition near Wakefield)
My daughter has only had her first tutor session with James, but she is already feeling more confident about tackling the areas of A Level Chemistry, particularly the application of maths, that are causing her concern. James' initial email contact through FirstTutors and his preparation for the first session was very thorough and instilled the same level of confidence in us as her parents. Following our email contact through FirstTutors, he came prepared with resources specific to her initial needs, including providing her with a work folder containing past exam papers and schemes of work. She feels comfortable with him, saying he is very patient, already providing her with an alternative approach to help her with her answers, which is proving successful from the get go. We look forward to seeing the full benefits of having James as her tutor.
Tatiana's feedback about Lucia (A-Level History tuition near Wakefield)
I just want to take a chance to say "thank you" to Lucia – I believe that without her my daughter would have not been able to achieve “A” in A-levels History. Lucia started working with my daughter on A-levels History quite close to the A-level exams, and still was able to achieve the excellent “A” result my daughter wanted, in such a very short amount of time. I believe this was because Lucia genuinely cared for my daughter’s success. Lucia was always going an extra mile for my daughter, always thinking of creative ways to improve my daughter’s knowledge and understanding of History, as well as giving very useful feedback on practice papers and explaining exam requirements clearly. From the first time we met Lucia, we were really thankful for her very helpful and engaging personality, as well as punctuality. Lucia was always easy to talk to and friendly. The best thing for us was to watch how passionate Lucia is about History, with the passion and knowledge that was very contagious. Thank you, Lucia
Martin's feedback about John (A-Level Maths tuition near Wakefield)
John is an excellent tutor. He has a very friendly and relaxed personality and is fantastic at explaining concepts in multiple ways. He knows exactly what he is talking about and always prepares great content for each session. He has also been very accomodating for when I have had trouble making it to the session and has been willing and able to do sessions effectively over skype/scribblar when required. From teaching me new content that I have never covered to helping me go through past papers, John excelled in all areas. In particular he introduced me to reading examiners comments on the past papers so you can see what the common mistakes people tend to make are. It also gives you an impression as to how easy a paper should have been overall. I would very much recommend John to anyone looking for a tutor
Martin's feedback about Ali (A-Level Maths tuition near Wakefield)
Excellent at explaining completely new topics in multiple ways until the core concepts are understood. He has great knowledge of exactly what is needed for the exams with additional bits of information to help understand where particular concepts emerge from. I have been given several technique tips for the exams and how I layout my own working out to make sense. Despite being on Skype it doesn't feel like a large hindrance to the teaching, if anything it's more convenient since it cuts out travelling all together.
Mr's feedback about Saudi (Casual Learner Arabic tuition near Wakefield)
Saudi is a thoughtful and well-informed teacher who is very aware of the needs of his students, both in terms of their language aims and in the diagnosis of their current knowledge and the their skills. He is generous with his time and very hospitable during my visits.
David's feedback about Odin (Casual Learner Spanish tuition near Wakefield)
My wife and I went to Odin to get a grounding in Spanish in preparation for a trip to Peru. We had limited time before the trip and Odin structured our course so that we made steady progress so that, by the time we went, we were able to have simple conversations.
Theodore's feedback about Mahmood (GCSE Chemistry tuition near Wakefield)
I found Mg to be very good at helping get a grasp on the technique and specific words that I need to use to answer my Chemistry GCSE exams, as well as understanding some of the topics I struggled with. I now feel confident that I will get an A in my exam thanks to him.
Jacqui's feedback about Hayley (A-Level Chemistry tuition near Wakefield)

Her experience in Chemistry and Biology allow her to teach in a memorable way as she can give you an insight to lab work and make the theory behind the science feel real. She also gives excellent support and answers questions fully, ensuring confidence.
