Jim is an excellent guitarist and teacher. I had no musical background or experience so was a little apprehensive of taking up playing the guitar. Jim has an extremely positive and encouraging approach which has helped me gain confidence and even play a number of songs in a short space of time. He is also willing to give advice between lessons to ensure I do not pick up any bad habits and keep me on track. I am thoroughly enjoying my lessons and seeing progress. I would totally recommend Jim to any beginner and beyond as his attention to detail is strict but he maintains a fun and motivational atmosphere.

I'm a beginner on the acoustic guitar and I found that books and YouTube are pretty poor substitutes for proper one-to-one tutoring. Finding a good tutor is not easy, but Jim is excellent. He is so enthusiastic, friendly and encouraging. Jim starts off by getting you to learn to play music first with some well-known tunes before adding some of the theory; it's a more fun way to learn. Jim was able to pick up weaknesses in my playing style and technique quickly and has improved on both these very quickly. I can't believe I'm playing to the standard I am already. I have much more confidence now and I'm working toward performing my first tune before an audience. Really enjoying the lessons. Well worth the money my dad pays :-) Thanks Jim
