Information About Jim - Hayling Island teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Jim:
I have been playing electric guitar since the 80's and have explored many styles over the years. I always seem to come back to rock & Blues, but that's a pretty good place to start for any guitar player. I also play accoustic and classical guitar but my qualifications are for Rock & Pop (Grade 8)
I’m currently giving 1-on-1 Rock & Blues guitar lessons in the Havant/Hayling area for all levels and ambitions.
I can’t stress enough how important a focus like an exam (or a gig) gives you, whatever your age or skill level.
Exams not for you? No problem, give me a shout with what kind of things you want to learn and what you are struggling with. It doesn’t have to be sophisticated or tricky, we’ve all met a lot of the same difficulties along the road, bar chords, bends, alternate picking, pinched harmonics - dive bombs whatever! I can teach you how to overcome your problems, set goals and start teaching yourself. Stop running into those brick walls!
Please get in touch and let’s get the ball rolling (and the guitar rocking!)
I have been teaching guitar in a non-professional (unpaid!) capacity for decades, in 2018
I took my passion for guitar playing and desire to teach to a professional level.
Now I tutor students across all age groups and levels of ability.
Classes are bespoke and tailored to what you want to learn and achieve.
Everyone is different but I am a believer in getting some fundamentals down before you move on. I learned the hard way and had to go back and fill in the gaps (not recommended!). I like to teach following the RockSchool or Trinity syllabuses, whether you want to do grades or not… i recommend you do. They give a clear development path and its great playing with the backing tracks!
