Information About David - Shanklin teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated David:
I am originally from Leicester, but recently moved the the Isle of Wight as its such a beautiful and relaxed place.
I started playing music at the age of 7 in the Salvation army junior band, playing Euphonium. At 15 I tried the saxophone and have never played the Euphonium since. A few years later I bought a Clarinet and love playing that too.
I have been teaching full time for 18 years and before that I was an Army musician for 17 years. I have played in Big bands, concert bands, ensembles and as a soloist all over the world.
I have taught in both State and Private Schools across Leicestershire and Rutland and built up a very successful studio of private students along side.
As well as teaching individual students of all ages, I have ran school bands and ensembles for rehearsal and performance purposes .
I can teach face to face or via Zoom, Facetime and Facebook Messenger if that is more suitable for you.
Music has to be fun and enjoyable, or its not worth doing. So, my lessons are fun, but they still have an element of challenge in them, as this is where progress happens.
I am happy to teach for fun but if you wish to take grades and exams that is also possible. Jazz and classical styles are both catered for.
I have a full DRB certificate and a current Child Safeguarding certiciate.
Lessons are open to one over the age of 7 (due to physical constraints of holding an instrument). My current oldest student started learning at the age of 72.
