Dex has worked with my twin girls for several weeks now. The girls really like him, respond well to his method of teaching and feel comfortable working with him. There has been an improvement in their ability and he gets them excited about the piano and developing their skills. They look forward to their lessons each week. Dex is reliable and punctual and has made an effort to fit in our lessons at a time that works for us. I am very pleased to be working with him.

I have not had a piano tutor before but I have had a number of tutors for guitar. I am a beginner but have some basic musical knowledge (e.g. can read music at a basic level). I feel that I have made much better progress with Kerine than with my previous music tutors. Kerine provides enjoyable sessions and stretches one’s ability without going too fast. There is always material to work on towards the following week’s session. We are working through a book but she will vary lessons e.g. include simple sight reading exercises. She has suggested a couple of other practise books to help improve technique etc. and they also make practice in between lessons varied. She is keen to ensure basic technique is sound (fingering / legato / hand positions etc.) as well as making sure the pieces are played properly. I did buy a ‘teach yourself piano’ book and to I have not felt the slightest need / inclination to use it. well.
