Personal Description:

***** COVID-19 UPDATE: Offering instrumental and academic lessons online only. *****

I am an ARSM-qualified, grade 8 pianist and grade 8 violinist with years of experience teaching privately and in schools. I have had extensive performance experience in my 2 instruments having played both for 15 years and am happy to teach complete beginners as well as those that are more advanced. I am a graduate from the University of Leeds, having completed a BA Music degree and whilst studying, won two performance awards (Toothill Performance Award 2017-18 and The Ernest and Luther Gaunt Music Award 2018-19) for advanced ability and progress in performance.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for information regarding availability, rates etc.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Tutoring Experience:

I offer a fun, friendly and tailored tutoring service for anyone wanting to develop their skills or learn a completely new instrument. I have had experience tutoring privately since 2014, as well as peripatetic teaching in schools and am always happy to teach new faces!

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in performing and teaching Classical music (including Baroque, Romantic and 20th Century) but have also taught folk tunes as well as pieces for fun. As well as performance, lessons will cover music theory aspects that are vital for building a strong foundation in playing any instrument. This includes: note-reading, posture, scales & arpeggios, time signatures and more! These will be delivered in an informative but fun way and parents of current students have found that covering these aspects has resulted in a noticeable difference in their child's understanding and playing.

I advise beginners to start with 1 half hour lesson per week or 1 one hour lesson per week if the student is older and able to concentrate for this longer period of time.
