Changes to Name Titles

After receiving feedback from a tutor, we've made a slight change to our system. As well as the titles 'Mr' and 'Ms', we've introduced 'Mx' to account for those individuals who identify differently, or for others who wish to be listed in a gender-neutral way.

First Tutors is proud to support the LGBT movement, and indeed all movements that champion equal rights.

First Tutors Struck by Lightning - Literally!

Many of our users will have noticed that our website was down during Sunday evening and most of Monday too. We would like to apologise for the inconveniences caused but regrettably the issues where out of our control. One of Amazon's cloud transformers located in Dublin was struck by lightning on Sunday evening which caused a fire that extended to the backup generators.

We have recently found there to be increasing demand for online tuition using freely available Internet technology as an enabler to remote learning. For some subjects this will work particularly well, e.g. languages where the tutee may require substantial oral work or help in a more piecewise fashion, alleviating travel requirements.
