Personal Description:
I am a London/Hertfordshire-based actor, singer and director, with a passion for working on new material and with young people on developing their skills and confidence. Alongside my creative work, I am also a tutor of Politics.
Drama and acting has always been my passion since a young age, doing Am-Dram and school plays at every opportunity I could, and I was lucky enough to train at the Royal Academy of Music in 2016/17. I have performed in productions of 'Assassins' (Pleasance London), 'Love's Labour's Lost' (Hackney Empire), 'Prodigy' (St James, now The Other Palace) and 'Brass' (City Varieties, Leeds - Winner of 2014 'Best Musical' at UK Theatre Awards), as well as having performed at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall (Disney/BBC), Bristol Old Vic, Cadogan Hall and Adelphi Theatre.
After graduating from the University of Bristol with a high 2:1 in Politics and International Relations (BSc), I decided to follow my passion of Musical Theatre, and gained a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music on their 1 year Performance (Musical Theatre) course, graduating with a Master of Arts (Distinction) and being awarded a Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music. Whilst at University I also was an active member of the National Youth Music Theatre.
I am also an experienced Director of theatrical productions, including a sell-out production of 'Into The Woods' at the Winston Theatre, Bristol in 2015, and '[title of show]' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016, as well as having directed a cast of young people in 'The Government Inspector' whilst in my final year at school.
Teaching Experience:
My particular passion is Musical Theatre, however I have significant experience with straight theatre (including classical works by Shakespeare and Marlowe) and site-specific/promenade theatre (including a recent show at the Schloss Leopoldskron Palace in Salzburg).
Whilst a Director of productions in Bristol and Edinburgh I was responsible for both large and small companies of actors, as well as heading up a creative team and managing an orchestra and backstage crew. Having said this, I always found the one-to-one sessions with actors most enjoyable and productive, and this has led me to start individual drama/acting classes for young people looking to improve their skills and confidence.
I have previously been a Summer School Assistant at Sharpe Academy, Rickmansworth, aiding teachers in leading large classes, as well as having the opportunity to take my own drama class. Similarly, I have been tutoring a number of students in both History and Politics for the past two years in preparation for their GCSE and As Level exams.
Teaching Approach:
My approach to drama classes is always focused around two things - firstly, what the student is looking to get out of it, and secondly, making sure its fun and enjoyable.
Younger students may be looking to develop confidence and ability, whilst older students might look to refine skills, expand their repertoire and versatility, and focus on their future, which may include drama school applications/auditions. Having attended drama classes since a young age, and been through the Drama school (and now professional) audition circuit, I look to be able to share my knowledge and work on making drama an outlet for enjoyment and development of vital skills that can be applied to a wide range of careers and futures.
I enjoy working through voice and movement exercises, script and song work (where requested), as well as audition and preparation techniques.

His sessions were very engaging, useful and his method of teaching helped my son immensely to prepare for his A level exams and he got the best grade in Politics. What I appreciated the most was the amount of feedback that he would receive, he found it extremely useful that he could see what mistakes he made and how to rectify them. Thank you Jack.
son in Upper Sith Form as he needed
to increase his grade. He has
definitely been a good choice as he is
very easy to get along with and highly
qualified in the subject. He also has
excellent teaching skills and I find him
trust worthy.
