Personal Description:
With a First-Class BA (Hons) in Animation Production from Arts University Bournemouth, a Certificate of Higher Education in Law from University College London, and extensive experience in both creative practice and communication, I bring a unique combination of subject knowledge, teaching capability, and passion for inspiring learners.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed expertise across art, design, literature, and cultural history. My work as Lead 3D Environment Artist on my graduate film project involved guiding team members through complex creative processes, providing clear explanations, constructive feedback, and technical demonstrations. In my voluntary and professional roles, including as a Teaching Assistant in a nursery setting, I have learned how to adapt my approach to different learning styles and abilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
Beyond my formal roles, I have been an active freelance artist and art influencer since 2016, producing and sharing creative work with a growing online audience. This has deepened my ability to communicate ideas clearly, use digital platforms to share resources, and engage others in creative thinking. Having been featured in multiple issues of 'Kerrang! Magazine', many young people have contacted me to say that I inspired them to pursue art. My academic grounding in both visual arts and the humanities equips me to help students build not only technical skills but also critical perspectives on culture, history, and expression.
I am particularly motivated by the opportunity to help learners develop their confidence, analytical skills, and creative voice. I believe that tutoring is most effective when it balances subject mastery with empathy, curiosity, and encouragement. I would bring to your programme both the academic rigour and the enthusiasm needed to inspire sustained engagement with the arts and humanities.
Teaching Experience:
I have undertaken work experience at St Panteleimon Nursery Kingsbury in 2018 as a Teaching Assistant. The role required me to support the learning and development of toddlers at the nursery in areas such as maths, reading and arts. Supporting children in this role was very rewarding and fulfilling, and it has made me passionate about pursuing a career in teaching/tutoring.
Aside from this work experience, I have teaching experience from my time in secondary school, where I was an English Ambassador. This title came with the responsibility of teaching English in the mornings to my form class. This experience built my confidence in presenting and explaining my knowledge to an audience.
When it came to the GCSE period, my friends were struggling to achieve 4's at the very least, meanwhile I was achieving 9's. I went out of my way to tutor my friends while also studying for the exams myself to make sure that they would at least achieve 7's. My friends' final grades went up to 7-9's, with on of my friends jumping from averaging 4's in English Literature to securing a 9 in the real exam.
Teaching Approach:
My approach to teaching is what I would describe as 'FUN':
F - Feedback (Analyse where a student's skillset is at currently, noticing their strengths and weaknesses. Praise their strengths and target their weaknesses through feedback so that they continue to grow).
U - Understanding (Making sure a student is following and understanding a concept by having them recall and attempt exercises after being taught, as well as listening to a student's concerns to understand their thought process).
N - New (Students learn something new every lesson that builds upon previous lessons and concepts, making them confident in their studies).
I believe it is important to foster this 'FUN' environment in an academic setting as the best progress comes from curiosity, interest and enthusiasm. This comes from tutors being engaging, communicating with students, and having empathy.
