Personal Description:

I am a young actor based in Hertfordshire. I trained at the Actor's Temple in London, a Meisner-based course. I have worked primarily in fringe theatre and theatre in education (TIE), though also have some experience with screen.

Teaching Experience:

I have previous taught acting to groups and individual students between the ages of 5 and 18. I have a thorough knowledge of all stages of the audition process for the top UK drama schools, and have worked with several students on speech preparation for these.

Teaching Approach:

I have a very student-led approach to teaching: it is important to find what techniques work best for each individual actor. There is no one 'right' way to becoming an actor, and I reflect this in my teaching by offering and exploring varoius approaches to acting. These include, but are not limited to: Stanaslavski, LABAN, Meisner, and (Michael) Chekov. Equally, I tend to build a program of teaching based on what you as a student want, rather than coming with a rigid plan of lessons.

I primarily use texts in my teaching, though am very happy to work on devising and improvisation if the student desires to. I have experience with texts from wide range of eras, and like to use everything from Shakespeare to contemporary playwrights in my classes.

Most of all, however, it is important to create an environment and teaching dynamic which allows the student to be comfortable, confident and safe during lessons. Acting can be a difficult and personal experience, and it is very important to me that my teaching is supportive and encouraging of all students and all abilities!

Due to COVID-19, teaching is a little limited at the moment. As teaching will be digital for the time being, it may be most practical for us to work on monologues or (possibly) duologues, as well as a practical and theoretical knoweldge of different approaches to acting.
