Experienced Tutor of Maths, Business and Economics (Head of Department). Degree in Mathematics, Masters in Business and have worked in industry for over 25 years. Qualified Teacher. I am a marker for Exam papers for Edexcel.

I have been Tutoring Maths for 12 years and I have taught at various schools: KS3, GCSE and A level - for all the boards AQA, Edexcel, and OCR.

I Tutor A Level Business and GCSE Business.

I Tutor Economics A level and GCSE. I do NOT tutor IB Economics.

I have availability during the day, and in the evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday

Please note I do not work on Saturday or Sunday on a regular basis, but will work close to assessment and exam times.

I tutor on-line only via Zoom.

I am a Qualified Mathematics Teacher, with a Degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Business (MBA). I have extensive experience in working in industry where I was involved in Strategy, Finance and Business Development. This enables me to bring the subjects to life and share my real life experiences and well as provide the rigor required to successful pass exams.

Tutoring Experience

I have been carrying out 1:1 personal tuition of Mathematics, Business and Economics for 12 years.

I have improved the confidence and mathematical ability and business acumen of the students I have tutored. My aim to help the student get a fuller and deeper understanding of the topics they find difficult. I provide a supportive and risk free environment to help nurture knowledge and to supplement the lessons taught in school. By having 1:1 session my students can ask open questions about their understanding and to feel free to make mistakes, say they do not understand and ask for the concept to be explained.

I have been the Head of Business and Economics at two schools where I set the GCSE and A level courses up. I have have a detailed understanding of the requirement to achieve success in these subjects and have real life practical experience from working in industry. This helps to make the subject relatable and to help to explain the business and economic concepts.

I believe with my 40 years experience in Education and Business I have built a range of approaches and techniques to bring maths to life, provide a motivating and learning environment.

Tutoring Approach

Many children find maths extremely difficult. I believe that the reason most children struggle with maths is that they do not develop confidence in their own ability and find it difficult to relate what they are learning and its application in real life.

Having worked in multi-national companies as a strategist, corporate finance and in International Business development I can bring the subjects of Business and Economics alive.

I am passionate about maths, business and economics and my aim is to instil the same love and enthusiasm for the subjects into by students.

I have the experience and knowledge to build confidence and improve mathematical understanding by using real life examples. I bring practical knowledge and real life examples of how mathematics is used, thus inspiring children to learn more effectively and efficiently.
