Hi

I am a Mathematics and Physics tutor with six years of experience teaching students from GCSE, A-level and to degree level.
“A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step” (Lao, n.d). The above quote encapsulates my thoughts right now as I write this because as a teacher I am engineering a difference to tomorrow’s world. Welcome to my profile.

I have both First class degree in BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and MSc Engineering Management. My course extensively dealt with engineering applications of Mathematics, Mechanics, Physics and engineering technology. During my undergraduate degree, I scored the highest within Anglia Ruskin University- Faculty of Science and Technology, which led to “Most promising student of the year award” from Chelmsford Engineering Society in 2015.

I believe that utilising my understanding and passion for my subject will definitely enable me to deliver lessons effectively and relate it to the engineering world. It was during my engineering years I realised that I had the potential to teach and deliver knowledge to others effectively. You see, having wide knowledge about a subject is great, however being a good teacher is when you can deliver it to others effectively. This is my core focus. I am constantly searching for techniques and ideas that can help me to deliver the lesson effectively.

I initially started to teach engineering students during my undergraduate degree and extended it to GCSE and A levels. I have been teaching and helping students ever since. I want to share and deliver my knowledge of Maths and Physics with young people so that they enjoy the subject, as well as achieve high academic standards in these crucial subjects. I am passionate about my subjects and possess a lot of vibrant energy, enthusiasm, and ideas to be shared and taught. I care about quality education and best understanding.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience of teaching number of students of different levels from primary to A levels and degree level students from different backgrounds for the past six years. On an average, I have taught about 3400 hours of Mathematics and Physics. Therefore, I easily understand student's popular struggle areas.
I have worked at the Billericay School as a Mathematics Trainee teacher for GCSE and A level Mathematics students.
I am happy, that my students still recommend me for tutoring as they progress from GCSE to A-level and degree level. My specialist knowledge is in Mathematics from primary algebra to complex differential equations, calculus, and Mechanics.

Tutoring Approach

I truly believe in inspiring students and making them believe that they can achieve what they are looking for. The primary aim is to provide self-confidence and the right mindset to approach the subject with an optimistic view. Lessons will be further built on this base. It makes learning much easier and attracts the student’s commitment to the subject. It’s very similar to setting a goal, a vision and then applying a strategy to achieve it.

Students often feel lost during school lessons, which makes it a lot harder to catch up later or sometimes this situation leads to a gradual dislike of the subject. Some teachers teach students how to solve a particular mathematical problem but do not explain- why they study, what they study or its real-life applications. My tutoring style is different by giving practical examples where students understand where they can apply subject knowledge, this eliminates robotic study sessions and makes mathematics or any other subject easier.

For GCSE and A levels, I initially will teach all topics to details, where it's applied, how a particular topic is linked to others and finally shift to solving past papers.
I will also teach exam techniques and exam time management. This provides confidence to students while approaching exam style questions. If my student struggles with basics, I am happy to explain no matter how simple or complex it is.
More than anything though, it is the success of every student that makes my job as tutor such a rewarding one.
