I have a Degree in Psychology from Lancaster University and a Masters in Teaching and Learning. More recently I have achieved my Advanced Teacher Status.
I'm a Psychology teacher and a teacher mentor at a very large sixth form college and work for the exam board during the examination period. When I'm not being a Psychology teacher or examiner, I'm a Mum to a little girl and we love having new adventures. I can provide tuition most evenings and weekends. I am passionate about my subject and love working with young people helping them to achieve their goals.
I have taught Psychology for 14 years to both AS and A2 students. I have always had 100% pass rate at A2 Level. I provide 1:1 support for many of my students within college but have decided to branch out into the world of private tutoring. I team lead for the exam board which means I am involved in the standardisation meetings, I manage a group of examiners in terms of their training and performance, in addition to doing my own marking. This means that I know exactly what the examiners want from your answers.
One to one tuition is beneficial to helping students get the high grades. I like you to get the most out of your time so will begin work straight away. It is important to build up a good relationship based on mutual respect between tutor and student so that the environment is a comfortable one in which to learn. I'm very approachable and flexible and will work hard to find a way of learning that suits the individual's needs. Sessions will involve a review of the specification, content/knowledge of the course and practice of exam questions. My philosophy is 'hard work pays off' and 'practice makes perfect'!
