I took tin whistle (Irish flute) lessons with Jon during the 3 months I stayed in Oxford. What an excellent teacher! And excellent musician! Fully professional, passionate, experienced. I was fully satisfied with his lessons. He recorded the guitar accompaniment and emailed it to me after those lessons where I learned a new piece. Jon taught me the embellishments of Irish flute music, the rhythms of the differnt genres like jigs, polka, mazurka etc. and how to emphasise on certain notes to make it so typically elegant. He also taught me how to be accompanied, how to listen to the accompanying instrument and how to influence the accompanier. He also taught me about the backgrond of Irish music, where all this was coming from, what is going on and what is changing in modern time. His English is clear and can be understood also by foreign speakers like me. Lovely! I can fully recommend Jon.
