Personal Description:
Oieee! I’m a Brazilian Portuguese teacher from São Paulo, and I’ve been sharing my love for the language since 2004. My classes are all about creating a fun, relaxed space where you can feel confident practising and learning. I believe in building an open, comfortable relationship with my students so that you’ll feel at ease speaking Portuguese from day one, having a laugh, without any pressure.
During my university studies, I focused on different language learning methods, which means I can tailor my lessons to fit exactly what you need. I’m really proud of the unique resources I create, and I always check in with my students to make sure they’re enjoying the lessons and seeing real progress.

Teaching Experience:
I’ve got a BA in Portuguese and English Language, Literature, and Education from Methodist University in São Paulo, along with a Teaching Knowledge Test Certificate from the University of Cambridge and an Award in Education and Training (AET/PTLLS) Level 4. Plus, I’m DBS-checked, so you know you’re in safe hands!
While I specialize in teaching adults, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students of all ages from all over the world—places like the U.K… U.S… Australia, Canada, Brazil, China, Chile, Czech Republic, Poland, and Panama (just to name a few!). I teach Brazilian Portuguese online and am fluent in English, with enough Spanish up my sleeve to help out when the languages start to mix and swirl together.

My specialty? Making learning fun, natural, and engaging. I use real-life conversations, visual aids, music, and plenty of interaction to help you absorb the language easily. Whether you're starting from the basics or building on what you already know, my approach is all about keeping things dynamic and enjoyable.
My lessons are super visual, fun, and all about you! I create custom resources, from lively presentations packed with exercises (think images, videos, music—whatever helps you learn) to Google Docs where we both jot down notes and you can work on your homework.

The content is interesting and presented in an interactive way that keeps the student engaged with the lesson.
While I am still at the beginner level, so far the material has followed a logical roadmap of progression, with a new concept being introduced, expanded upon to solidify understanding before introducing the next topic. Additional learning resources and exercises are also available **E-mail Address Removed**classroom in addition to the standard course material that is taught.
Finally there is also the opportunity to engage with other students studying with Edna as well. This is totally optional but it gives people who want to engage with the other students the opportunity to work on their Portuguese by using it in actual conversation.
Overall I would highly recommend Edna. My feedback is from the perspective of someone just starting to learn as an absolute beginner and Edna has been a great tutor in helping me develop my knowledge of Portuguese.
