Personal Description:

I am a French tutor, course creator, translator and interpreter. I have been living in Wales for nearly 30 years.
I studied French modern literature and Latin at University of Perpignan on the French Mediterranean cost where I also learned Spanish.
When I moved to Wales, I studied Swedish at Lampeter University and in Värnamo, Sweden. I have an Extended Masters in Translation and Interpreting with distinction.
Basically I love communication, expression, languages and teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught privately for 30 years, children and adults, beginners and advanced levels. I have supported many students through their exams and have also been an assistant in Lampeter and Aberaeron secondary schools. I have been a teacher in Newcastle Emlyn secondary school, a course creator and accredited tutor for Swansea University and the Ministry of Defense. I also have many adult students of French and French culture who delight in discovering their growing ability to understand and speak French when they go on holiday or spend time in their second residence in France.

Teaching Approach:

It is important to assess how the student learns, what helps them improve fast comfortably so that they can enjoy the process of learning. Everyone is very different so lessons have to be tailored to suit the personality and goals of each individual. My lessons can be 30 minutes (£18), 45 minutes (£27) or an hour (£36)

From Carola (5/5): I'm a complete beginner at the piano at the age of 75, and I'm only 3 lessons in. Sarah started with really detailed instructions about hand positions and is rigorous in keeping me to them, but I appreciate the attention as I know that starting with good habits is important. She is a good judge of character and has realised that I need to enjoy a tune to practise it well, so she has found me tunes that I like - and that she likes too, because she genuinely seems to enjoy the work we do together. She is extremely patient and attentive and always encouraging. I feel that I am making good progress and am glad I am learning from her.

Tutor was able to introduce him to Music technology and back this up with related theory.

At the moment, Seb has basic knowledge of musical notes and guitar notes so Sarah may be able to build upon this existing knowledge.

Sarah is incredibly versatile - feedback is such following our initial lesson.
