Personal Description:
I am a native of India from the state of Punjab who has been living in U.K for nearly 40 years. I have a full command in three languages i.e English, Hindi and Punjabi. I specialize in teaching conversational Hindi and Punjabi.Since I teach the conversational part of the language it includes listening, understanding, conversing,group discussions,vocabulary building,grammar, pronunciation, sentence structure and various other aspects of effective communication. I have a very relaxed and uncomplicated style of teaching. Since I teach the conversational part of the language I teach through talking and it is an interesting way of learning and teaching. I offer support 24/7 through e-mail. If something is not clear students don't need to wait till next session. They can drop me a mail and I'll be more than happy to help them. If you can find a buddy who is at the same level as yourself and who is as keen to learn as yourself I offer group lessons also and I offer massive discount. For me teaching is an ongoing journey. Though my lessons are structured but they are very interesting. I am very reliable and take lot of pride in my work. Patience is my biggest virtue and I can teach the same thing in lots of different ways. I enhance the strengths of my students and work on their weaknesses. I have a love for languages and it shows in my work.

Teaching Experience:
My experience in teaching ranges for all age groups from high school students to adults. I am comfortable in teaching to a group of people. I have over 2000 hours of teaching experience.My experience ranges from adolescents, professionals(actors, dentists, doctors, retired and semi retired people and lots more) to people who are 60+.
I have been tutoring conversational Hindi and Punjabi since 2007.
I held workshops in Primary schools about India, Indian languages, Indian culture, food and lots more.
I have worked as an assessor for the people who are training to become interpreters in Hindi or Punjabi languages.
Teaching Approach:
I take a holistic approach to my sessions which stems from well over a decade of teaching conversational Hindi and Punjabi and from having recently completed Level 3 Life Coaching Course. I utilise my knowledge from teaching and life coaching to identify students goals, their motivators and based on their preferred working style I plan customised lessons.
I offer both online and in person teaching. My students are located all over the world and they benefit from a tutor that has extensive experience in teaching which means I am able to advise you of mistakes to avoid, tips and insights to accelerate your language learning journey.
I get my information from reliable sources and then carefully plan my each lesson tailoring it to meet your personal goals. My students have described my style of teaching as being uncomplicated, interesting and engaging. I cover a variety of topics in lessons and am always receptive to my students feedback. She quickly understands and adjusts to your level and pace, and has a good balance of making you feel comfortable but also gently challenging you when she feels you are ready to go further. She picks up on things you haven't yet grasped and makes sure to return to them again until you understand it fully - to me, this is a sign Richa has years of experience. It has been a great experience being Richa's student so far. She has made me feel super confident in my progress and I really look forward to our classes and her positive energy.

I do not feel that there is any disadvantage at all by not having face to face lessons as she makes every minute count. Her style of teaching is great because she’s goes at a steady space and really helps to make sure you understand something before moving onto the next. Also due to focussing on speaking rather than reading or writing we have found it is much easier to progress by writing sentences phonetically - and have learnt a lot having only had a few lessons.
Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to progress in speaking - it's a shame we can't fit more in!

I have been doing conversational Punjabi lessons and even after the first lesson I felt that I had enough confidence to go and practice what I had learnt. With every lesson I feel that my understanding is getting better and things that initially seemed daunting are now much easier for me to grasp. I also feel that Richa is good at making sure that you don't stay in the comfort zone and going over the same things over and over again. Each lesson is challenging, interactive and she tailors things to my individual needs. I highly recommend Richa!

I would recommend this for those people who have a learning style that requires more direct social interaction rather than reading books etc. My tutor is very personable, patient, warm and encouraging. I think the relationship is key!! My tutor has been very flexible, tailoring my sessions, going over things, translating songs also! If you have a busy schedule this is perfect and the tutor is flexible with changing dates at very short notice too!!!
