Personal Description:

My name is Ragna, I am 33 years old and I first moved to Glasgow in September 2013. I'm from a small village near Wuerzburg in Bavaria, Germany and got my Bachelor's certificate in Literary Studies and Religious Studies in Erfurt, Germany. I completed a Master's degree in Film & TV Studies at the University of Glasgow in 2014 and after living in Berlin for half a year in 2015, moved back to Glasgow. Linguistics and languages are my main interests, next to travelling and art.

After moving to Melbourne, Australia for a few months in 2017/18 I am back home in Glasgow and ready to help you or your children study German and English!

Teaching Experience:

I've got over fifteen years’ worth of German and English language teaching experience (privately in Germany, Glasgow and Melbourne and at a tutoring institute in Erfurt, Germany) with students aged 7-63 on all levels.

I've also worked with the Goethe Institut in Glasgow to bring the German Language Adventure to Scottish schools. I am using my own materials and those given to me by friends who are teaching German as a foreign language.

Teaching Approach:

Adding a slight twist, I use music, literature and applied geography to help teach students read, write and speak German.

I am happy to teach on weekdays in the afternoon and evening.

No matter your level of German, I will ask you to buy 1 book (available online for under 14 GBP), 2-3 notebooks, a dictionary and coloured pencils. I will provide any other materials like worksheets, playlists and reading lists.

Reply from: Ragna: Panos is a pleasure to teach. He's always well prepared and eager to learn. We've had a lesson outside and played football in the Botanics, and I'm looking forward to repeating that. Kicking the ball back and forth while talking about our favourite colours, days of the week, food - all in German, of course! - was great fun.

Reply from: Ragna: Yoshi is polite and studious. He makes fast progress and is not shy to practise English pronunciation. I checked out a book on English idioms for him and he was eager to get their full meaning. Overall a great student.
