Personal Description:

Experienced teacher of all ages with MA in Czech and over 14 years teaching at language schools, major corporate companies, banks in London and the Ministry of Defence, offers tailored courses to students of all levels. Teaching Czech as well as English as a second language I base my lessons around conversation and understanding of the core language structure. I strive to help my students to feel confident and at ease when using Czech.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher with over 14 years experience teaching Czech as a foreign language for several language schools in London, also as a freelance tutor for many companies in the commercial sector including Stena Line, Pearsfield, Allen & Overy, Cameron McKenna, IKEA, and EMEA.
My latest appointment was teaching Czech at Defence Centre for Language and Culture, Shrivenham for the Ministry of Defence UK. This four months intensive course required not only teaching but also a production of teaching plans, setting and translating papers for the final exam and providing report writing.
For King‘s College London, I led an assessment programme for the European Medicines Agency invigilating exams, participating in assessments and marking. I also provided report writing for staff needing proficiency certification in Czech for internal assignments and postings.
Additionally, I have previously prepared a High school student for Czech International Baccalaureate exams and University entry level competence at the ACS International School Cobham, where I work as a supply and native language teacher.
I also teach privately children age ranges 7-18 for second generation Czech families, to learn mother tongue fluency and grammar.
I have been a resident in the UK for over 14 years, hold Qualified Teacher Status.

Teaching Approach:

I am a friendly, flexible and approachable teacher and I spend a lot of time researching and purchasing resources that could enhance my teaching. I use modern textbooks purchased from renowned bookstores such as Grand and Cutler and I also use CD’s and other listening materiál to help my students to get used to other voices. I individually tailor my lessons to students and prepare them beforehand. I base my lessons around conversation and understanding of the core language structure. I strive to help my students to feel confident and at ease when using Czech/English language.
