Personal Description:

I am Portuguese and I am a private tutor in Portuguese. I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Literature from the University of Porto, Portugal, and two courses on teaching Portuguese as a Secong Language (one from the University of Porto and another one from the University of Coimbra, Portugal).

In 2019 I was the author of a scientific article published by the University of Porto based on a research done in a Portuguese Secondary school on teaching relative clauses.

2010-Present - Private tutor in Portuguese
2016-Present - Private tutor in Latin
2017 - Speaker at the Linguistics Congress “A Linguística na Formação do Professor" (Linguistics in teacher qualification) held by the University of Porto Faculty of Arts.

Teaching Approach:

Students are all different so I always talk with them in order to know what they really want. Do they want to take more time and learn in more detail the foundation and the grammar of the language or are their goals improving their convversational skills and survival? I listen with great care to what they want and adapt my teaching to suit their requirements. Each lesson takes 75 minutes
I also do some group sessions on Zoom which are free and that all the students can join to learn not only the language but also something about Portugal (history, culture, food, etc.). Students love these sessions as they learn more and at the same time get to know each other.
