Personal Description:

Certified professional Russian and English language teacher with more than 35 years experience, MA in Linguistics and Teaching Languages as well as Cambridge CELTA Teaching Certificate. My priorities are my students' confidence and convenience while studying, and their satisfaction with the final results.

I love teaching, it has been my life's work. For me it's more than just a profession, it's a state of mind and soul, when you as a teacher and a person want to constantly grow and develop, open new doors and look into new cultures. It isn't just for self-development but also for sharing with students and carrying them with you. I'd like to share the knowledge of Russian with my students and open the door to the huge world of Russia.

I have mastered a wide range of teaching techniques which afford me to be very flexible in teaching and to make each lesson tailored, where the main principal is to simplify things, make them fun and easy to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching languages since I graduated from the university, starting with teaching at a secondary school, then as a senior teacher at Kazan State University, one of the oldest and biggest universities in Russia, blue chip companies among which is Johnson & Johnson (Spoken and Business Russian) as well as giving face -to-face and on-line private tuition, which all in all comprise the students’ age range 5 - 67…

Teaching Approach:

My priorities are my students' confidence and convenience while studying, and their satisfaction with the final results.
That’s why I’m so very proud to say that my students have achieved many of their goals, whether it’s just a simple trip to Russia or passing their exams, living in bilingual families, helping their companies to strengthen relations with Russia and even working and living in Russia.I will help you to learn, step by step, at your own pace.

I provide my students with all the necessary materials as well as offer interactive games that they can play after lessons to increase their vocabulary.

From Jenny (5/5): Natalia is the most amazing tutor, and works to your ability, speed and needs.
I am learning for pleasure and want to be able to reach a conversational level. My son has a Russian partner and in September they are expecting their first child. So I am wishing to be able to talk with my grandchild who will grow up bilingual and my son can also now speak Russian.
Natalia understands my needs and I am really enjoying the process of learning this very different language. My memory is not the best however Natalia has an enormous repertoire of useful ways to help. She is very positive, encouraging, kind and understanding. She also has a sense of humour which make each lesson so enjoyable.
I look forward to every lesson and cannot recommend Natalia highly enough. She is a real gem of a find!! Jenny

She doesn't overload you with information, but still pushes and challenges you, and seems genuinely interested in helping others learn Russian. It's good that she doesn't have the "one size fits all" approach to teaching; often she'll ask you how you feel the lessons are going, and whether you could push yourself further or ease off a bit. She's also very accommodating regarding lesson times.

When I began, I was not even sure how to characterize my own ability level (I am not a total beginner), but Natalia had no trouble pinpointing my level during our first lesson. As a result, the lessons are at just the right level of challenge for me; we are covering material that is new, and yet I do not feel lost. Natalia breaks down complex topics so that they make sense, and the exercises she presents further clarify how to convey the intended meaning. There is a good balance of speaking, listening, and reading in the lessons. Also, the words and grammatical constructs we cover are useful, i.e. they are clearly ones that I (and anyone would) come across often in speaking with others. The class is online, which is of course extremely convenient. I was concerned initially that it might be harder learn this way, but Natalia has this sorted, and I do not find it to be an impediment to learning. Overall I find my lessons with Natalia to be an efficient and enjoyable way of learning a language. I am pleased with my progress, and I would definitely recommend Natalia to others.
