Personal Description:
I am a native French speaker and a qualified French/Spanish teacher with over 20 years' experience of teaching and tutoring. I tutor students of all ages, from primary school children to undergraduates, with a particular focus on GCSE and A level. I also give conversation classes. I am passionate about language learning and teaching and making lessons fun and productive.
Teaching Experience:
As well as teaching French to A level and Spanish to GCSE, I am an examiner for one of the country's major examining boards, an invaluable experience which helps me secure and improve the grades of my A level students.
I have also taught French in primary schools and in after-school clubs.
I tutor adults who want to learn French from scratch or improve their knowledge of the language for pleasure , work or who want to communicate better whilst on holiday or because they have a second home in France.
In addition, I have worked with language students at degree level as well as supporting secondary students to achieve and improve their grade at their examinations.
Teaching Approach:
I tailor my lessons to individual needs and interests and seek to build confidence using a variety of materials. I use games to practise and reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures. I am friendly, patient and aim to make all lessons fun and productive.

Murielle is an excellent teacher, patient and encouraging, making the lesson interesting and enjoyable using different teaching methods and in the short time I've been seeing her I have already found my French has improved. She is so dedicated and easy to get on with, always encouraging, which makes learning easier and really enjoyable. She is the perfect teacher for whatever level you may be at. I would thoroughly recommend her.

I have been delighted with Murielle's dedicated and professional approach, targeted questioning and patience. In a 1to1 setting my son feels he can comfortably ask questions, recap knowledge gaps in learning and approach Murielle if he has not understood something at school. Murielle meticulously plans her lessons, but always provide time for my son to go over misconceptions and provide worksheets for homework, tenses and verbs, further questioning to ensure he can achieve the best possible outcome. From Martha (/5): Murielle is a very professional hardworking tutor which I sincerely recommend for anyone who is looking for a French Tutor. My daughter did so well in French in her GCSEs this year. She was working at grade 5 at school. She first started online tuition in January this year and within 5 months upto her GCSEs she achieved Grade 8. Murielle assessed her in her first session and was able to know where my daughter stood. Murielle gave her a personalised tailored tuition which helped her in areas where she was struggling. She has personalised work sheets which helped my daughter to organise and see where she was struggling. Within a few sessions, my daughter was progressing very well and getting confidence in French. She gained confidence in everything- Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. In Writing she had very low grade 3 in December before she joined, and now she achieved Grade 9 in Writing in a matter of 5 months!

Murielle has tailor made lessons plans for my son and each lesson is planned precisely so really benefits from these lessons. She is patient and very thorough and I am totally confident that he will now do very well in his French.

She babbles french at me and is absolutely buzzing after her French lessons. Murielle plans the lessons thoroughly and provides materials for her classes. She tests that the learning is absorbed and works at my daughters pace. Murielle was an absolute gold star find! I have every confidence that Elizabeth will do much much better in her GCSE’s than she would without Murielle. My daughter is now keen to do French A’level when she gets to yr 12!

In his recent school exams, he had the third highest grade in French in his year, coming only after the 2 native French speaking pupils. Huge credit to Murielle to achieve this with a 15 year old!! And Murielle has been extremely accommodating with rearranging things to fit around his busy schedule. Highly recommended!!

My French has come a long way since then and I feel I'm in a much better position to go travelling in France and further build my vocabulary. The sessions are engaging and really enjoyable! She had a particular challenge with teaching us as a couple with one of us with a reasonable basic understanding and the other with zero knowledge of the language. Murielle balanced this well. We have temporarily postponed our lessons due to family business but intend to ask Murielle to begin our lessons again in a few months time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a French tutor.
