Personal Description:

I am originally from Kaliningrad, which is a western part of Russia, on the Baltic sea. I've been living in the UK for 13 years now. I am fluent in both Russian and English, speak Italian. For me learning a foreign language is a journey of discovery and adventure and you never know where this knowledge can take you to… I have a keen interest in photography, art, literature, like traveling and enjoy coastal or woodland walks with my dog.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 15 years experience in education as a language teacher in Russia and in the UK and I have strong theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching practices for secondary, further and adult education. I have obtained a PGCE with Plymouth University in 2014 and a TESOL certificate to teach English as a second language in the UK in 2015. I teach English as a second language in a language school in Plymouth and I teach Russian as a foreign language for more then 10 years now.

Teaching Approach:

My student-centred approach ensures that each student has the opportunity to maximise their potential. I encourage my students to express themselves freely and I adapt my teaching methods to their individual needs and learning styles. In my view, it is important to work on all of the aspects of the language (grammar, speaking, listening, writing, reading) because a combination of all of these skills produces the best results in language fluency. When I prepare a lesson I always try to make it effective, stimulating and enjoyable for my students as through my experience I have found that this is the best way to learn and improve.
