Personal Description:
I am a native Italian tutor and translator (AITI) from Venice. I studied English and Spanish Language and Literature at Ca' Foscari University, Venice, Italy.
Teaching Experience:
Online private tuitions on one-to-one basis for business, holiday purposes and preparation for OU, GCSE and A-Levels. I was an Italian Lecturer at Weymouth College and I have experience of conducting GCSEs and A-Level oral exams for different Examination boards. I am also a writer of didactics material and books for an online company.
I taught Primary children for a language and football project. It was extremely well received and the children loved learning Italian.
Teaching Approach:
Friendly and flexible attitude towards tutees. I focus on grammar, theory and conversation for a correct spoken/written language. I often prepare materials myself because I tailor each course to every student's ability and pace. Lessons are currently held through Skype or Zoom.

MarikaFrom Elisabetta (5/5): Marika has been preparing my son for the Italian GCSE exam. Despite Francis being tired at the end of a school day, Marika is very patient and manages to teach the language with a light touch but determination. In just a few lessons, he has made huge progress. I highly recommend Marika!

Marika has been kind and patient with our often shy daughter and under her expert tutelage her confidence in her abilities to speak Italian have grown to the point where she recently sat the speaking part of the examination with confidence and ease. Marika now turns to tutoring our daughter for the three other elements of the GCSE and we are sure that she will do an equally excellent job of preparing her. We feel very fortunate to have found Marika, who has gone above and beyond to develop a good relationship with our daughter, building trust and mutual respect which has made the sessions worthwhile. She has a nice sense of humour so the lessons are fun and engaging. Plus she is also keen to give context to the language and its use which is very important. It's very easy to arrange lessons and she is always very organised. I would highly recommend Marika to anyone looking for a true Italian speaker and experienced tutor.

She makes me practice till I really get it. Her approach and insights in the language is not that of a narrow mind, so each lesson has always been really interesting. And she has a gift to make the lessons fun and exciting. One feels comfortable and not overwhelmed with all the difficulties language learning brings with. From Maarten (/5): I found Marika's introduction for beginners with Italian language clear. I thought she was sharp in correcting my pronunciation and she would let me repeat any words that I didn't pronounce correctly. I thought the lesson she constructed was simple and enjoyable for a first timer which involved pronunciation of the alphabet and the pronunciation of consonants. The lesson also included greeting and introducing myself and saying goodbye in the form of role playing. It was an interesting lesson.
