Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Liam! I'm a native Mandarin speaker from Malaysia and Mechanical Engineering graduate from Imperial College London who now teaches full-time. I was educated in a Taiwanese school for 12 years where I lived and breathed Mandarin, including the associated nuances and culture. I have been teaching the language professionally to clients in both the UK and Malaysia since 2018 to students, businessmen, casual learners and more, always to great satisfaction and results. I currently also work as a Data Science lecturer for Data Analyst apprentices.
Teaching Experience:
1-on-1 Mandarin tutoring since 2018. STEM tuition in Mandarin since 2016. Also a tutor in STEM, dance and music subjects. Data Science lecturer since April 2021.
Teaching Approach:
I have my own developed curriculum with accompanied slides if you prefer a more structured approach, alongside with optional assessments and additional resources. Relaxed but focused and tailored to your specific goals. I will help you achieve your objectives as quickly and effectively as possible. Lessons can cover practical elements of reading, writing, speaking or listening. I can teach both traditional or simplified mandarin. If you are not satisfied with the lesson for any reason, I will offer a 100% refund for the class.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Fee of half the hourly rate if class is cancelled within an hour of commencing, full hourly rate if cancelled within the scheduled timeslot.

Liam is adaptable, fun, engaging and energetic. He is able to break down and teach specific dance techniques as well as allowing the child to be creative in the dance space. Highly recommended.

Liam was able to quickly get his head around her math curriculum at school in order to make the most of each lesson. After the first session he asked me if the style of tutoring he was doing was okay for me, which it was, but I appreciated the fact that he was willing to adapt his style to suit me.
