Information About James - Newton Abbot teacher

Personal Description:

I am a PGCE teacher of Spanish and French, holding a first class Bachelor's of Science degree in Spanish and Sociology. I speak Spanish to native proficiency. I lived in Spain for one year, in Granada, where I studied at la Universidad de Granada, and I am married to a Colombian native speaker. I can teach Spanish up to degree level, tailoring classes to writing, reading, speaking or listening as the client may require. Whether it is help with homework exercises, an hour of one-to-one oral practice, or helping my student understand some of the tricky grammar rules, I'm here to help. I can also teach either Iberian Spanish or South American accent, and model either pronunciation, as required.

I am also qualified to teach French to GCSE, having completed a three-month intensive French course at Marjon University funded by the Department for Education prior to my Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at the University of Exeter. I also studied one year of Portuguese during my undergraduate and so can teach this to beginner's level as well.
I teach online, tailoring classes and activities to the needs of the learner.

Teaching Experience:

I qualify this year as a Secondary Teacher of Spanish and French, having taught both languages in Secondary schools as part of my PGCE (teacher training). I also have experience as a private tutor, tutoring adults in Spanish online.

Teaching Approach:

I think teaching should be fun and engaging, and I believe in prioritising high-frequency vocabulary to maximise fluency. I use a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening activities to promo**Contact Detail Removed**arners' progress, and depending on the level of the student I try to use as much of the target language as possible during the lesson.
