Personal Description:

As a qualified linguist, with a BA (Hons) degree in Modern Languages, I worked for several years as a senior level bilingual PA, initially for a French Canadian stockbroker in the City of London and then for the French cognac house Remy Martin, also in London. Following a move to Hertfordshire, I became PA to the Managing Director of Mothercare International - the division of Mothercare UK responsible for the company's worldwide franchise operations. I now live in Pennine West Yorkshire with my husband (our two children having now flown the nest), and have spent the last few years teaching French and Spanish as a private tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a private French and Spanish tutor for over 15 years. My clients include children and teenagers, and I have helped many students to GCSE and A Level success. In addition I have tutored many adults, most of whom wish to learn the language because they have a holiday property in France or Spain, they visit the country regularly, they intend to move to the country, they have family members there, or just for fun! I have, therefore, taught at all levels - from absolute beginners to `A` level students needing a bit of extra help. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, I have gained experience giving lessons online, and can now offer lessons via Zoom, Skype or in person.

Teaching Approach:

I offer individual or group lessons to help you acquire the French or Spanish language skills necessary to help you in your professional lives or on your holidays. Individual lessons are tailored to your requirements. Whether you are learning a language for business or leisure reasons, one-to-one lessons enable you to progress at your pace and are particularly suited to people who don't yet have the confidence to speak a foreign language in a large class situation. I addition, I now have extensive experience helping GCSE and A Level students achieve their full potential. I can tailor lessons to the curriculum and give a real confidence boost in the areas they are struggling with. If you would like to learn French or Spanish in a small group (up to 6 people), I would be happy to teach you. Such groups can be a lot of fun and lessons will be tailored to your needs, even if your language abilities vary.
