Personal Description:
My name is , Hui-wen. I am a native Mandarin teacher and a qualified Chinese teacher living now in Leeds. I completed PGCE Mandarin course in MMU and graduated from the Institute of Teaching Chinese as Second Language, NTNU (National Taiwan Normal University) I have be teaching in Mandarin centers for foreigners in university in Taiwan for 15 years. I am a qualified Chinese teacher and also have lots of experiences in teaching Chinese.

Teaching Approach:
I provide down to up and up to down teaching Chinese as second language training program, from Chinese teaching material design to Chinese classroom teaching skills, from Chinese language teaching to Chinese cultural teaching, from teaching oral daily Chinese to teaching students to pass the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi-Chinese Proficiency Test). With a very solid training, students who graduated from TCSL are teaching Chinese in universities and colleges all around the world. Having a Master Degree in TCSL, I can contribute a high quality teaching in Mandarin and offer students a systemic and strategic procedure in learning Chinese.

I can already see my son's approach to Chinese learning has become more consistant. Huiwen gave him homework after each lesson and set up words to learn. The words were tested in each lesson to ensure his learnings are solid. We are very happy with Huiwen and would recommend her.

I was surprised as I found the teacher via online without any recommendation which I normally do. If you are looking for a friendly professional dedicated tutor for your child then please look no further . From Chehwei (/5): Huiwen is very experienced & dedicated. She is quick in working out a plan and goal for my son (who is doing GCSE next year) to work towards. She is organised and efficient in sending out homework, providing a summary of what's been taught each week and regularly updating me with my son's progress. She is also creative, using different ways in her teaching, so to make her lessons more interesting and engaging.

From Wei (/5): Huiwen is teaching my two daughters age 6 and 11. She is a very experienced teacher which makes it much easier for my two daughters to learn this difficult language. I had tried to teach my daughters myself as I am a native speaker. However, after a few lessons with Huiwen , I realised she has great knowledge and methods of teaching Mandarin. My two daughters became much more motivated to learn the language, and they are always looking forward to having the lessons. Definitely recommended.

From Josh (/5): Excellent teacher. Builds confidence in student by making them feel comfortable in explaining themselves and their thoughts in a second language. Progress is incredibly fast as a result. Varied topics also improve vocabulary at a quick rate. Couldn't recommend enough.

From Sarah (/5): The lessons have been really useful so far. I like the way they're structured, and writing short pieces for homework has been challenging but helpful. It's been really great to have examples of online articles to read, or a film to watch, has this has helped develop different skills. It's also been good to have lots of new vocabulary each lesson, and to be encouraged to try and use more complex language. Thank you, Huiwen!
