Information About Friederike - Lambeth teacher

Personal Description:

I am 25 year old professionally trained opera singer. I grew up in Germany and moved to the UK in 2013 to study music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music with Honours degree I have worked as a German tutor, vocal teacher and Music teaching assistant.
As a High School student I discovered my love for teaching when helping a non-native speaker to prepare for a her final exams. This interest developed further in my time at university which I explain in greater detail in the ‘Teaching experience’ section.
When I am not teaching I enjoy all kinds of arts, especially music, dance and poetry. I am very open and interested to learn about different kinds of cultures and to engage with people of various walks of life.

Teaching Experience:

The study of German repertoire forms an important part of my undergraduate course which gave me a great number of opportunities to help my colleagues to pronounce the words of their songs accurately. This led me to develop a more systematic approach and I started to give lesson in German phonetics. After leaving university I gained an deep knowledge of the German grammatical and semantic structure and began to teach my students in all aspects of the language. In addition to private tutoring I have had the privilege of coaching vocal students of the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as part of a German song project.

Teaching Approach:

I am a very patient and committed teacher. My approach is to my student at their level and support them in a way that works for them as an individual. I am planning the lesson content according to my student’s preference as to where the learning focus should be. My teaching experience includes various levels from beginners and intermedia**Contact Detail Removed**arners. My lessons cover a wide range of areas such as the proclamation of German opera libretti, a grammatical knowledge as well as conversation skills. Whether the aim is to it’s to gain basic knowledge or fluency what inspires me is to support people achieving their personal goals and dreams.
